Although a new pet may seem like the perfect holiday gift, it is very important to remember that a new pet is a major committment and careful consideration must be given when making the decision to welcome a new addition to the home. The holidays are a busy time and this adds more stress to an already stressful adjustment period in a new home. Because of this, the SMAS will not be adopting animals out between the dates of December 20th- December 25th. Adoptions will resume on December 26th. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
